Prof. Dr. Rolf Birk (*1938; †2021)

Following his call to the University of Trier in 1983, Prof. Dr. Dres. h. c. Rolf Birk was named Professor for Civil Law, Labour Law and Private International Law and was also made Director of Jurisprudence at the newly founded Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Community. For many years, the IAAEG, now IAAEU and situated on Campus II of the University of Trier, was located at Schloss Quint. Prof. Birk was given emeritus status on September 30th, 2006. Since the 1980’s, Birk was known as a leading expert in international and European labour law.

Ms. Treppschuh was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union from 2018 to 2023.

Dr. Jan Aufterbeck

Mr. Aufterbeck was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union from 2016 to 2022.

Dr. Daniel Polzin

Mr. Polzin was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union from November 2018 to April 2022.

Dr. Alexander Schneider

Mr. Schneider was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union from March 2018 to April 2021. In May 2021 he began his legal clerkship at the LG Trier.

Ammar Bustami

From February 2018 to December 2018, Mr. Bustami was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union. Since October 2018, Mr. Bustami has been a research associate at the University of Hamburg at the Chair of International Law of the Sea and Environmental Law, International Law and Public Law of Prof. Dr. Alexander Proelß.

From October 2014 to the end of September 2018, Ms. Hebold was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union.

Dr. Christina Hiessl

From October 2016 to September 2018, Ms. Hiessl was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union.

Dr. Anna Donner

Ms. Donner was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union from October 2013 to October 2017. In November 2017 she began her legal clerkship at the LG Trier.

Marius Mietzner

From October 2012 to July 2016, Mr. Mietzner was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union.

Dr. Agne Vaitkeviciute, LL.M.

Ms. Vaitkeviciute was a research associate at the IAAEU until March 2016. During her one-year research stay, she worked on the project "Employment at retirement age? Instruments for improving employment opportunities beyond the age limit: suggestions from Finnish practice."

Konstantin Esch

From March 2012 to October 2012, Mr. Esch was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union and until the end of March 2016, he was a research assistant at the Chair of International and European Labour Law and Civil Law (Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Schlachter) and in April 2016 he began his legal clerkship at the LG Düsseldorf.

Melanie Klauk

Until May 2014, Ms Klauk worked as a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union. Since the beginning of May 2014, Ms Klauk has moved to the Labour Court in Lübeck as judge.

Dr. Boris Alles

Mr. Alles was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union until December 2013. He received his doctorate from the University of Trier with a thesis on the topic of "Labour law of business trips abroad". Since 2014, Mr. Allen has been Senior Associate with the international law firm "CMS Hasche Sigle."

Kornelia Donner

Ms. Donner was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union from June 2010 to February 2013.

Dr. Johannes Heuschmid

Mr. Heuschmid was a research associate at the Institute for Labour Law and Industrial Relations in the European Union until June 2012. Since July 2012, Mr. Heuschmid has been deputy director of the "Hugo Sinzheimer Institut" in Frankfurt am Main.

Dr. Nils Maack
